Dan M. Somers, an internationally recognized expert in airfoil design,
analysis, and wind-tunnel testing. The firm is based in Port Matilda,

## About Dan M. Somers

Dan M. Somers holds a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University
(1974). He served as a Research Engineer at NASA Langley Research Center from
1974 to 1989 and founded Airfoils Incorporated in 1980. He co-developed the
Eppler Airfoil Design and Analysis Code with Richard Eppler and has designed
airfoils for wind turbines, aircraft, gyroplanes, sailplanes, unmanned aerial
vehicles, cruise missiles, and cooling-tower fans.
